My Dad's b-day is coming up and he is a weather freak. I would like to get him a nice weather station that can also be used on his computer. I need a good weather station and good software. Any ideas?

This is supposed to be one of the best consumer ones out there: http://www.davisnet.com/weather/prod...asp?pnum=06152 . Davis has a few different models depending on what's needed, maybe that's overkill? A good place to look is http://www.weathermatrix.net/wxstation since there's links to reviews of both hardware and software.

If you want to go all out... the Vaisala WXT510 looks to be pretty cool (http://www.vaisala.com/businessareas...rmulti-sensor). I hope to be getting my hands on five (!!!!!) soon for a project.

Thanks for the replies. I have found a couple I like. The Davis and Oregon Scientific are topping my list.
