I am new to this forum and don't know much about headphones, so I need help from you guys.

I am looking to buy a pair of over-ear headphones, and I am interested in these three right now:
1. Audio Technica ATH-M50
2. AKG K550
3. Shure SRH840 or SHR940 (do they sound different?)

I prefer natural-sounding headphones and $300 is my price limit. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Heya,

Natural sounding? Ok.

1. M50 is not natural. It's "V" shaped, bassy, with slightly harsh treble and a cramped sound stage.
2. Reference level audio, but only if you can get a good seal. This is a good "natural" headphone if you can make it fit you well.
3. SRH840 is a good natural headphone. SRH940 is not natural at all, it's all mids & treble and lacks mid-bass so it sounds thin.

I would suggest you go with the SRH840.

Very best,
