I'm having a great time with my HD600 phones and Darkvoice 336i amp (and all the fun tubes that came with it). Wondering what the next step up for a great quality source would be. I have a Sony C75ES cd player that sounds pretty good, and a Denon DCD-970 that is ok too. I also have a 30gb iPod, a PC with itunes and a bunch of high quality, older PCDPs. I figure options could include the Wadia ipod transport thing, some kind of quality dac to take input from my computer or a higher-end CD player. Convenience is important too, aside from sound quality. I tend not to listen to music while at my computer, for instance, and I don't have a laptop. If someone said that the computer to dac option is the best bet, I would pick up a cheap used laptop.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I listen almost exclusively to music with great vocals, if that helps or matters.
