Hello, I'm on the market for my perfect headphones, so I've tried some, but got rid of them, because they were all lacking something:
AKG K142HD - comfort and "spaciousness"
Grado SR 60 - same
HD555 - just plain boring

The closest thing to my perfect headphones are the Sennheiser HD 540 Reference - incredibly light and comfortable, with just enough spark in the highs as not to be fatiguing, real wide soundstage, decent speed and attack, but it somewhat lacks in bass (both extension and presence) - I really liked the "fun" bass bump of the Grados.

So - is there anything similar to the HD 540, but with more bass?  Any of the HD 540 siblings - 560/530/520?

One option, of course, is adding a good equalizer to the chain, but it would probably cost more than getting another pair of headphones.

Thanks for Your time in advance.

Aren't they too polite and "slow", with no PRAT?
I know I liked them for vocals/jazz, but I did not test them with electronic music.

How about the Beyerdynamic DT880?

The DT770 are too bassy, what I'm looking for is a SLIGHt increase in bass when compared to the HD540.
Also - I really dislike almost any closed headphone that Ive heard, including DT770.
