100+ Head-Fier
Been avoiding making a thread like this for awhile until I felt I needed the extra help. Which I've now come to lol
So I recently had an Ibasso DX150 which I adored, paired with IT01 on balanced. I used that on the stock amp module. I was happy mostly except I decided to move it along because it wasn't convinient outside of the home. So in my next quest I want to try and prioritise first and foremost sound (obviously) but portability as well. Something that I can use with TWS iems to ride my bicycle with so I'd like quality BT as well.
I've had a few options in mind. Namely:
Hiby R3 Pro
Shanling M2X
Fiio M9
I probably would have a Hiby R3 Pro if not for all the stock shortage due to the virus, since it seems to tick a lot for me.
I also have seen a few used Onkyo DPX1A for a good price and am interested but I have heard about some of the problems with the ports. Looking for a source that either doesn't hiss much or has a black background.
Genres I like to listen to, rap and hip hop (So I like a good low end,not muddy or boomy or one that bleeds). Classic Rock (Pink Floyd, Rush), Metal (Metallica, Slayer), classical, pop and some edm. As for iems/headphones, I'm interested in running IT01S since I liked the IT01 a lot but I'm open to new reccs on those too in pairing with these DAPs or any that you might suggest to me. Auditioning isn't really an option since where I live there isn't any hi fi sources like this around so I have to rely on my research and you good people. Thanks
(Oh yeah looking at keeping the budget around 200USD or the top might be 300USD,I live in Australia so the value varies and it can be hard to find good deals after currency conversion. If I can keep it 200 i might be able to put the savings towards a pair of iems.)
