I'm having a hard time looking for PCDP on the internet for some reason. Anyway, if anyone can help me out I am looking for a player with these qualities in descending order:

1. Good Headphone out quality
2. Preset EQ's (or is this not preferable?)
3. Skip protection
4. Slim design

I don't plan on spending more than $100, please help. SQ is the MOST important for me.

Rubber Soul -- Arguably the breakthrough album of the 60's ...

From what I recall, skip protection is a mixed blessing, in that a degree of compression is involved in the "saved" material ... so you wouldn't be getting the uncompressed CD-quality sound. I have had two fairly decent PCDPs (and they were surprisingly good ... but one was a gift and one was an "inherited" gift that someone else never used), so I haven't researched them the way a Head-Fi member who was researching a purchase might. Let's hope someone who knows more about PCDPs weighs in ...
