Hey guys, currently have a pair of DT990 250ohm Pro's and an Aunty1.

It was a great entry setup but I do want to take a step up (and get a pair of headphones that are much more balanced, i'm currently using a system wide eq to drop the high frequency).

After much research on these forums my ideal setup would be:

Schiit Bifrost
Schiit Valhalla 2 or Lyr 2 (considering the Asgard 2 also since it's a lot cheaper in Australia)
Sennheiser HD650

I don't have the budget to go all out on it so would like to purchase things one at a time. What would be the best order to go that would work with my existing gear and give me a nice sound upgrade each time?

I'm thinking the DAC would be the last thing since the T1 would be decent enough.

Is it worth going amp first since that's the weak spot in my setup? Would I notice the amp upgrade much on my DT990s? Or should I just grab the HD650 first and run them on the Aunty1?

Cheers

Hi there,

Why not experiment the new headphones in your system first? You could like them that way and save some money, to later buy a full new system...
I would do that... Funny I was trying to search for your Aunty1 system and only get porn results on google xDD
Made my day xD

Do you feel like the T1 isn't powering your 990's well enough? If you are satisfied with em, I'd pick up the new cans first and then go from there. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Well guys, after finding out how close the magni 2 uber is to the asgard 2, I've decided to just order the whole kit!

Sennheiser HD600 (decided on this since I was after reference sound)
Schiit Modi 2 uber
Schiit Magni 2 uber

They should come in soon, I can't wait!
