Howsa bout just scratching it with usage. The damn things are so delicate they scratch if you just look at them and they really need to be housed in a protective enclosure to protect them. If you "must" engrave it then your name and DOB would be appropriate.

That's what I've been doing since the 2nd gen, up until now I've always babied my iPod. With my recent Nano, I haven't been doing that so much. I guess I stopped caring about resell value--oh well.

Perhaps I'll just see what picture appears in the scratches. Then if its the Virgin Mary I can sell it to a US casino for $20,000!
