Beyer DT 990 600ohm, vs Sennheiser HD 650.

Here is my setup:

E-Mu 0404>Berhinger FBQ1502 graphic equalizer>Little Dot Mark III

Uses:

Music, Gaming, Movies

What I am looking for:

- Wide soundstage
- Musical clear highs
- Warm mids
- Thick, but not muddy bass

My biggest fear is that the headphone will sound too bright, I like really warm headphones so if I am heading in the wrong direction, let me know.

As far as amping, will the Little Dot Mark III work well with the HD 650? I know they are picky about amping, so I have to ask.

Thanks!

Two completely different animals. If you're after a more warm and thick sound then get the HD650.

I demoed both yesterday and I'd prefer the 990s for movies.  It'll get you about as close as you can get to room shaking explosions with 'phones, if you watch lots of action movies and what not.  With you EQ you can 'file off' the treble peak on the Beyers easier that you could EQ up the bass on the 650s.  If you mostly watch calmer movies than you'll probably like the 650s better though.
