would this lod let me just plug my headphones into it, without having to use an amp with it. im pretty sure thats what it is but i wanna make sure.

No. That's a line out adapter only. It allows you to bypass the internal iPod amplifier so you can connect the iPod to an external amp. You might be able to physically plug in your headphones, but the line out is not going to have anywhere near enough power to drive them.
