sincere apologies and thank you once again

--------------------------------
I've listed the cheapest price I've found as well. I've also read the comparison between HD600 vs HD650 and I believe I would like the HD650 better.

I've had the DT880 250ohm but due to unfortunate circumstances, they disappeared last week.

I want your opinion in regards to your own experience and equipment. I do not think you can give me an answer appropriate to my equipment because you haven't heard it and the countless variations possible in the signal chain.

In saying that, I believe some phones have "signature" sound that transcends equipment.

here's a sampling of artists I listened to:
1. metallica
2. u2
3. bach
4. vivaldi
5. diana krall
6. james ingram
7. michael jackson
8. boston
9. madonna
10. taylor rain
11. leann rimes
12. the corrs
13. the cranberries
14. bee gees
15. beatles
16. chicago
17. michael buble
18. new order
19. depeche mode

and many more!

thank you very much.

I enjoyed the DT880 a lot. but since the phones disappeared, I'm trying to evaluate/find out if there are better options out there.

I'm a big fan of the 701. The clarity and
detailed presentation are very addicting.
I think the 701 reveals more of your
equipment setup than any of the
headphones I've tried. In contrast I think
the 650 is the more forgiving of
equipment WHEN they're properly
amped.
I've had some time to compare the 701
and 650 and it's my belief that what
others have said to be a thinness of the
701 sound, when compare to say the
650 richness, is clarity. I think the 701 is
so clear that all you're getting is the
music. Some of what's been described as
brightness is the 701 revealing what the
recording is giving it to tell you I think.
There is a large gap in philosophy
between the AKG and the Senn. It's
difficult to be in both camps without
having at least some preference to one
or the other. I choose the 701 even
though it's obvious the 650 is an
excellent headphone.
