As the title indicates, I want to improvise a strain relief for my UE 500 IEMs... They have a right-angle connector, and a flat cable. Unfortunately, it transitions directly from hard plastic soft cabling, so I want to find a way to keep it from bending, as well as a way to keep it from being pulled out of the plug part.
 
It looks like this, except it has a flat cable:

I thought about that, but it's not that structural, and it might be a little difficult to get it over the right-angle plug. But if you can prove me wrong, I gladly accept any advice

You could cut it and wrap it around the connector and superglue it before you heatshrink it. I did it that way and it works fine.
