OK...as of right now, I've got a couple of vintage Fisher tube amps (500C and X-202B).  I'm thinking it might not be a bad idea to buy my own tube tester at some point. 
 
I gather I will need something that will test 12AX7's and 7591's for sure, and a few others that are mostly tuner tubes (6HA5, 6HR6, 6CW4, 6AU6/EF94).  There are surely some other tubes that I'll want to be able to test too. 
 
I've been poking around on eBay for a while, but it seems like there's so much available that I'm not sure where to begin.  Any guidance anyone can offer would be very much appreciated.

If money isn't an issue I would definitely go for the amplitrex at1000. It's been recommended to me more than once and the little time I spent with one, I was impressed.

Well, money is ALWAYS an issue. 

 
How much $$ we talking about here?  I was hoping that $300-$400 would get me something I could live with.
