I was practicing my soldering on some really old computer equipment when i came across this IC, i'm having trouble identifying it, i was just curious as to what it was, and what it does.

I googled for the company and i found out the logo belonged to siliconix, which has been acquired by Vishay.

I can't identify the part by using a search, and google is being surprisingly uncooperative. I imagine the hard drive was from 3-6 years ago, so i'm guessing that this part has been long discontinued.

Chip markings are as follows:

4500 (siliconix symbol) DV (Triangle, delta?) · L23A

picture included below. Thanks for any help in advance.

just to take a wild stab in the dark but the SI (for siliconix) 4500 DY from vishay is a complementary mosfet half bridge, it also comes in a so8 package. linky
