right now my setup is laptop with windows with foobar > dac> lyr 2> hd 600s

im looking for a new laptop and wonder if i got a mac that i could get everything going like i have now working fine

are there any major issues or hangups?

if its labor intensive i have no problems taking the time to learn

Not sure if there is a version of foobar for Mac, but the Bifrost is plug and play with OS X with either USB or optical. Connection to the Lyr won't change.

Software wise, there are many options with OS X. I use iTunes with Bitperfect (App store $9.99) and am happy with the results.

I used macs since the early 90's (Mac Classic), one word of caution I would make is that OSX is becoming more of a "walled garden" in terms of software.
Sticking with PC will give you more choice for players and decoding.

I would miss Foobar.
