I'm confused. So are my SR-5's like these or better. Or should I say are the SR-5's electrostatics or not?
I think he is thinking of asking about £80 ($160) which is probably way too much if they are basic units?

The SR-5 is from the same era and they are very much superior. There were some good electrets such as the SR-80 Pro but 160$ for a SR-40 is way too much. The SR-30,40,50,60 and 80 are all electrets while the rest of the Stax models are all electrostatic.

Okay, so I did pretty well on both of mine then, as I picked up an SRD-6 and an SRD-7 with the two pairs. My son has one, I have the other.
