I have the vmoda m100 for an amp do I want the e11 or e7
Thanks

For portable audio, chances are you would use the FiiO E11 headphone amplifier.
For a Win PC or Mac computer (or, laptop, note book, etc), Fiio E7/E07K DAC/Head amp.

If you need the DAC and are considering the E07K, then I think I would wait and save a bit more cash and get the E17. If you don't need the DAC, then I would still wait and save a bit more to get the E12.

Is there a reason for this other than the optical features? I went with the E07K because I didn't see using optical sources.

The amp in the E17 is not the same as the amp in the E07K. The E17 is a slight upgrade with an AD8397 opamp which is typically said to be a bit cleaner. It also has bit more power. Truthfully, it's not a big difference, but the price difference isn't big either. I only said what *I* would do in the OPs place...
