Our Creative Zen Nano is falling apart. I want to find my wife a new flash player that also has FM for the gym.

1. It needs to have good sound quality
2. Be able to be clipped on or have cases that clips on.
3. Needs FM capability
4. Needs to be able to shuffle a certain playlist or folder
5. Needs to be readily available from a major local store - she would notice an online sale
6. Needs to be under $100
7. Should have some form of screen - so Ipod shuffle is out

An EQ is a definite plus.

I was looking at the 2gb Creative stone or maybe a Samsung T9 ?

I believe I saw somewhere that the Creative Stone Plus 4GB is on sale at creative.com for $90. Ive seen the Stone's on sale at Wallmart, maybe the markup on one from your typical B&M store wont be so bad.

Shucks. If you could do an online purchase, you might want to checkout Sellout.Woot.com. They are running Creative Zen V Plus 4gb for $45.

As for a B&M store, my suggestion would be the Sansa Clip. I haven't used one, but I hear the sound quality is excellent. Also, I have seen them in several different Wal-Marts and they should be in Best Buy as well.

I absolutely love my Clip, as a person accustomed to HDD-players. If you've any questions, feel free to ask (and yes, it does sound damned good).
