I am looking for a good quality portable cd player. Not concerned with tuner or built in eq or any other unimportant options. Just want something with a sturdy build and a really nice sq in the lineout.

Any idea where to get them these days? That line's been out of production for two years. I used to have a SlimX imp-400 which was awesome until it stopped working properly and I gave it away, these days I use a $50 Panasonic SL-CT582V.
