Hey All,

I've kinda been out of the loop for the past 2 years and am now in the market for a new DAP. I will be using it for working out, siting on the plane, etc. The most important thing to me is sound quality.

I have been running an X5 but the battery now doesn't hold a charge.

In terms of headphones, I have hd595, a200, ksc75, ep630.

The Ipod nano, and the 4Gzune have caught my eye but I haven't heard either.

I have been really impressed by the sound quality of the Sony 8GB NWZ-S818BLK - not sure my ears can always tell the difference these days with many DAP's, but I seem to notice it with this specific player.

The battery life has also impressed me - and its a flash player so should be good for working out.

I only wish they did larger capacities...its surprising how greedy I get with wanting all my collection of the player all the time

It's kind of like in a quiet way Sony have started recovering from their missteps over the past few decades with proprietary codecs and produced some really good players.
