Hello! Currently I own a pair of V-moda M-80s and really want to get something else. I've been really considering ATH-ESW9A, ATH-IM50/70s. I listen to Alternative, EDM, Classical, hip-hop, J-pop, J-rock and metal. Mainly all I would care about is vocals and string instrumental sound quality. I know these are two completely different setups, but I just can't decide. Any ideas? Thank you

The m80s are quite uncomfortable to me. I've had them for over two years now, which only recently I noticed how much it really was a toll on my ears. Though I do like the SQ, I really want to try something else mainly in the Audio Technica line. I'm willing to spend around $250, but I've only read good things about the IM50s and ESW9A from AT so I've been really considering them.

Vmoda released the m80s successor, the xs, which is supposedly much more comfortable. The reviews of it supports that claim heavily.

As for iems, you'd probably like the westone 3.

And as always, refer to joker's threads for portables.
