I've had my SE535s for nearly three years now, and due to my own stupidity I've never cleaned the black olives I have on them. They've now got a substantial earwax buildup on the outside that I really need to clean off (and I'd like to clean the filter inside too).

The problem is I can't remove the tips! I've tried the freezer trick described elsewhere on the site but I had no success even after 15 mins in a medical-grade freezer. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would be eternally grateful...Thanks!

Get a scalpel blade and slowly (carefully) cut through the tip from the side, slowly cut it off without hurting the nozzle.

I recently bought a pair of 535 and the tips were on there solid, I cut them off.

You don't want those grubby things in your ears again anyway. Get some new ones.
