Just received a DAC Magic and hooked it up with DAC cable. I have no sound from the RCA outputs although the incoming sampling rate light on the Cambridge is changing according to the source. I'm using Windows XP.

I've tried disabling the soundcard - the DAC shows as installed. Anything I'm overlooking?

Thanks for any and all help.

I worked through the problem. Anyone that has the same no output in conjuntion with Foobar, the output needs to be changed manually. This is under the tab Library - go to Configure - go to Output - set output device to USB. Restart CD selection.

Thanks for the post! I just got my DacMagic and the same thing happened with foobar. I searched google for "dacmagic no sound" and hit your post. After reading your solution I did them same thing and voila I am now listening to tunes from the dacmagic to the line ins of my Compass (while waiting for Woo WA6 to arrive anyday now I hope..) I see you ahve Audioengine A5's - I just ordered those as well - do you like 'em? Did you get a subwoofer too?
