Am looking for suggestions for dac/amp to listen to music from macbook pro on grado 325i cans....
Issues:
1) price point: must be under $500.
2) low impedance issues: the Grado cans are 32 ohm, and thus very low impedance; but I might also get some Sennheisers that would be very high impedance; is there a portable that can drive both of these equally well?
3) power: I'd strongly prefer usb power over battery or ac-adaptor.
4) flexibility: my dream is to find a fine portable headphone amp that can also be used to power headphones for listening in to my 2 channel stereo set-up (rega turntable; rega phono preamp; Linn power amp).
5) the sound: mostly acoustic modern jazz; I like the term "dark and creamy" if that means warm, analog-ish sound with huge wide middle sound and clear encompassng bass sonics
