I have been using Hegel HD12 for over a year and suddnely it just won't connect to my Mac Mini. I tried another Mac Mini as well as a Macbook Pro still no joy. I can connect via toslink but not via USB. I have been emailing Hegel half a dozen times and so far no reply from them. As also a Hegel H160 owner I'm very dissapointed with the company right now.

I just got mine - it doesn’t connect with my usb c to old usb (?) adapter. However, with a usb c to 4 old USB port adapter (or hub), it works fine.

Only issues are: 1) I cannot control The volume from the Mac so I have to use the remote (my audiolab m dac accepts volume control from the Mac), and 2) it appears to default to 16-bit audio and when I force it to 24-bit, I can hear digital distortion in the music. Very strange!

Sound wise it is a big step up from the m dac!
