In a new setup, I am trying to run my iPod through a TEAC NP H750 (DAC) through a Marantz 2285B through Sennheiser HD800.
The problem is there is no setting in which I can use these earphones. With everything on and the volume off, the lowest I can turn on the volume is too loud for the earphones. All equipment is factory specs. Anyone have any idea as to what is wrong and what to do to fix the problem. The earphones work great through the TEAC, but there is no balance or bass etc on the TEAC.

Lower the volume from your source or you can try RCA attenuators from the input of the Marantz (-12dB ones from Harrison Labs).

Thank you. No way to lower the volume, i'll try attenuators. How do I determine strength?
