Headsave PPA vs Transit using Ipod

I was, unfortunately, still no sign of the 650s

The PPA will take however long it takes JMT, I'm not too worried about that as since its making a cross-atlantic journey I'm not going to be around to pay the customs fees they'll no doubt demand

I've got so much holiday left up at work I pretty much stop mid-December through until new year, so I'll enjoy spending some time with the PPA, 650s and SACD then!

Who knows, might even try and build a MINT then also :P

Don't know yet... SACD should be arriving today or tomorrow, player is a Pioneer DVD (forgotten the model, 565A perhaps). Unfortunately, its still going to be a while to give it all a go, the PPA will take a few weeks to get to me after JMT builds it (its awesome that people DIY build these things). HD-650's were out when I ordered, and the Company are ordering more in from Sennheiser but they've gotta get some in from another country or something so it may take a little while on that front also.

All in all, its going to take a week or two probably before I'm up and running

Still, gonna be a magical day or 7!

Well, now I'm trying to burn in the amp to see if it makes any difference. It sounds amazing right out of the box but I figured a burn in couldn't hurt. I'm going to run it throughout the night for the next two nights playing random songs through the ipod. The other thing might make a difference is my cables. I'm am currently using a RadioShack cable because Headsave was out of parts at the time to build me one. I noticed a difference with the Transit using Headsave's cable vs Plastic One. It gave it a bigger sense of space and a little better bass. I can't use this cable since the amp uses RCA jacks.

I just ordered a Kimber Interconnect Cable.

I heard good things about this cable and after trying a couple difference cables out, I really believe they make a big difference especially with ety headphones since you can hear the slightest differences.

And since I ordered from headroom, I have the 30 day return policy in case it's just not flexible enough or does not actually improve the sound.
