Hi, I know the 2 are somewhat different (both in price and portability). For me, getting the bithead would mean an extra 100CAD, taking into account shipping.


Assuming that I use them with a DT990 beyerdynamic on my laptop, would the bithead be worth the extra cash?

EDIT: extra question, does the bithead's DAC component work with a portable source i.e ipod? or does it only work as a amp for portables?

It only works as an amp for portables (unless they have some kind of mod or digital usb output). The bithead comes with a stereo 3.5mm mini to mini cable for use with the ipod. With that connection you are using the dac inside the ipod and only amplifying the analog signal with the bithead.
