Most commercial solid-state amps don't have socketed chips. The HeadRoom Little most certainly doesn't - and the SMD construction of the Little certainly makes putting in a socket quite hard:
The META42 should come with a socket, of course; I'm not familiar with any builder who doesn't socket their opamps unless the buyer requests otherwise.
