Grado SR80e.
I had them in the past but they sounded a bit harsh about highs.. but somehow i liked them. The weird fact is that I can't find them anywhere here in italy, they are also not available on Amazon.it. .

I like the HD650 - because it can make even the shittiest potato recorded demo tape sound good.

I also have the Sennheisers (see below). I recommend the Sony MDR-1AM2, the tuning of this headphone is perfect for Metal (not only), powerful and deep bass and super sharpness. Like the Sennheiser they scale very well with good quality amplifiers/dac. The 1AM2s work very well with equalizers.
Excellent++ value for money:wink:

Doesn’t the OP’s Sennheiser HD600 with its sublime midrange cover the rock/metal genres ? For €125 I doubt whether any improvement could be achieved. Perhaps a used older HD580 (3rd/4th version with raised nameplate) has a plainer tonality or as has been suggested a used HD650 with more bass and a slightly darker tonality could be an option but these tend to be more expensive even used. Perhaps Beyerdynamic’s DT 880 if you like treble emphasised sound signatures and listen quietly. It’s doubtful you will find anything that doesn’t have many negatives associated with it around €125.

Closed back - Drop Meze 99 Noir
Open back - Drop Sennheiser 58X
Undoubtedly the best two sub 200 dollar cans I've owned for rock and metal.
Hard to get drop stuff in italy.. :frowning2:

Sennheiser HD 25 is pretty darn good for more "extreme" metal, very forward and aggressive sounding. Doesn't handle too many genres that well and can start to fatigue after a while not only in terms of sound but also in comfort but it's worth considering.
