been looking around for a pair of cans that's large enough for my ears. The HD558/598 seem to have pretty large ear cups, I need something thats longer than 65mm vertically, pretty sure those 2 exceed it.
I also happen to be a bit of a bass head, I play a lot of rhythm games so it's very helpful to be able to clearly hear the tremble and the beats. From what I read the Senn headphones are usually on the lighter side of things when it comes to bass. Question is, should I just go for the 558 or 598? or is there an better alternative?
my priority is comfort for extended wear then the sound quality. For a price range below ~150.

thanks!

The HD518 will offer more bass then the HD558/HD598, but your sacrificing over all audio quality of headphones like the HD558/HD598, for the louder bass.

Just grab the 558/598.  Nothing I've tried has earcups like them.

I would assume the HD600 or HD650s offer more bass, but I'm assuming they are over the OP's budget.

You can also look in this thread for ideas:

The Beyerdynamic DT 990 may be an option, if you can find one used or an open-box deal (webdealin has a customer return on eBay for $135). You'd have to contact them regarding warranty, but there is a 30 day return window.

Well..never heard the 518s but my 598s aren't that good anyway.
Sloppy, dirty bass which hits excursion at 82-5db at 100Hz.

They probably have the worst bass I have ever encountered, I returned mine and pleaded for a new one because I could't believe how bad they sounded.
The XPT100-HM5 are superior to the 598s in terms of fidelity.
