I had an epiphany on the weekend after listening to the HiFiMan HE1000 v2's. my gods...they were beautiful. I know some of that has to do with the other equipment used too, but I only know the AMP used, which was a IFI PRO ICAN...don't know the DAC that was used. never thought to ask. 
but how they left the Senn HD800's in the dust. It was nirvana.
alas, I can't afford $10K in gear...but wonder what I could look at that would give me a step up from my HFM HE-350 and HE-4xx Massdrop specials and not leaving me wanting like the HD800's did after listening to the HE1000 v2's.
