Shure's if you want something small, Sennheiser HD280's if you want something big.

Head over to the classifieds and pick up a set of Shure E2's, you'll be extremely happy with them

edit: Why is it that we have an Ety Smilie, but no Shure smilie?

Another vote for the E2s here.

I think the HD280 and V6 would both be too hot and heavy for that type of use, and the E2 should also isolate better than either of them.

(I have the Shure E3, V6 and HD280)

how good is the E2 sound qualllity compared to others in the price range.

do you know of any places that sell the e2s for cheap

and i`m really Pissed(are we allowed to say that) because i just wasted $36 on some senn px100`s because i didnt know i would have to mow any lawns.

The E2's stay in your head fairly well, I don't know about jogging with them though

Oh and count the V6 out for lawn mowing or other times you need complete isolation.

I've used Shure E2's and E3's while mowing lawns, chain sawing, etc. They are a godsend during noisy "boring" activities. They both isolate 90% (guessing from my experience) of the outside noise and can be enjoyed with mild listening volumes. I actually look forward to mowing now....

Having them stay in place won't be a problem. But I hope you're running on a track or some other safe place, 'cause you won't hear traffic coming at you either. Maybe keep the px100s for jogging?

They are like ear plugs, stay in your ears pretty well. One thing to be noted: you will hear thump in your head if you run, breathe hard and you'll hear it, if your heart is pounding you'll hear it (more like blood pulse in your head), too. You'll get used to it, though.

haha, yeah right. the v6 dont seal anything unless you crank the headphone to very loud. not even canalphone would completely block out a lawmower noise, but if you are listening to music at the same time at mowing (maybe little hazardous?), then it will block out most of the noise. i use my e2c with the silicon sleeves as an earplug for most noisy works and they help reduce a good amount of noises.
