Hi im not an audiophile and I am knew to headphones. I do like bass though and listen to electronic and rap songs. I have looked around i noticed that the M50's are very liked her on headfi but i think they lack bass from what i heard. I was planning to get the xb500 or the ultrasone hfi580/dj1, but can not decide.  I wanted to  know how well the isolation on the hfi580/dj1 were compared to the xb500.  the xb500 seem alot more comfortable and i was wondering how muddy the xb500's were on the mids and highs compared to the dre by beats

I once owned some refurbished Sony XB500, mushy bass, mushy pads, weird vocals.
Find some refurb (on eBay) Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 80-Ohms, good bass.
I do not think you will find very may fans of "Beats" headphones on this forum.
