Just type in "$50 headphones" in the Head-fi search bar.  Several hits come up.  Some even for your genre.

At home use:
pioneer se-a1000
(based on reputation, I haven't heard these yet)

Portable:
jvc ha-s400

If you can stretch your budget a little, Grado SR60i or SR80i. Some people have issues with them, but nothing I have heard can compete if you are after rock oriented headphones. Open design makes them not-so-usable on the go, though.

Look around and see if you can find a set of JVC HA S500's
the model one higher than the S400 noted just above.

I've seen them (imported from Japan) on Amazon and eBay
for about $55.00 and up.  They are really standouts in
this price range IME - in part because they use a new technology
which is actually beneficial.  (Carbon nanotubes.)

You can grab a used SR60 for around $50 if you're in the US, i owned it before. HFI-450 is also great.

Also check out the Superlux lineup.  I have the HD681 Evo and would highly recommend that one!
