Hello! I previously came to Head-Fi for help in finding a pair of IEMs which sounded nice and worked well with a budget. (Sony DREX61LP.) Since those shorted on me today, I am looking for a pair of Headphones or IEMs under $50 (Though I'd prefer for them to be under $35.) I will be using them everyday, so they should be durable/well made. I listen to most types of music (Lots of Orchestral music, as well as a lot of bassy and electronic tunes) so I'd prefer for them to be good all-rounders. I'd also do a bit of gaming with them, so they shouldn't be serious under-performers in that category. (Clarity is really appreciated) An in-line mic with controls would be fantastic, but is not completely necessary.

Right now, I've looked at a few and don't know what else to look at. Here are my current findings:

  1. Monoprice 108323 http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-108323-Premium-Hi-Fi-Headphone/dp/B007SP2CO2

  1. JVC HA-S400B http://www.amazon.com/JVC-HAS400B-Nanotube-Headband-Headphones/dp/B008P8EXRU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1399934435&sr=1-1&keywords=jvc+has400b

  1. Sony MDRZX-100 http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-ZX100-ZX-Headphones-White/dp/B004RKQM8I/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1399934547&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+mdrzx200

There are no IEMs here, but If a pair which met all my specifications existed, I'd prefer it over full-size headphones.

I've also really considered the Samson SR850, (though it is at the top of my budget) as a one-time worthy investment.

Any luck in finding an all-rounder?

You budget is very limited and generally you will get more value for your money in that price range with IEM's.  Check the Buying Guide:

Ideally, I'd like IEMs. It's just that I'm having trouble figuring out which pair would sound either the same or even nicer than my old pair of Sony IEMs.
