Hi! Is there anywhere in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area to audition some of the higher-end Sennheisers? Thanks!

I have been to Audio Perfection a few times.

They had Sennheisers, Stax, Grado. They even had one of the rare, really expensive Sennheisers, not sure if it was the Orpheus or not. They have let me demo quite a few things. They have an unbelievable in-store inventory of high end stuff.

And not a single decent amp to drive anything with.

Last time I was there, Stereoland in Uptown (& Eden Prairie) had several Grados to audition, and the owner there (I forget his name just at this moment) is a nice guy.

Hi Fi Sound (Dwntwn. Mpls.) also had several Grados to audition, and I bought the SR-60 there.

I was just at the Ultimate Electronics in Mpls./Minnetonka off of Ridgedale Rd. & Hwy. 394. They no longer have any of the higher end Sennheisers. It's not that they ever had the 580/600 or 650s, but they had the 280s. In sum, their selection is NOT worth making the trip for.

The Needle Doctor (in Dinkytown - on the U of M campus) had several Grados and I think the Senn 650s the last time I was there.

Wow, thanks for the leads. Audio Perfection is great--I have been visiting them since 1978 (when it was run out of the owner's basement). I have not been back to look at headphones, however. Somewhere along the line I lost interest in home stereo and picked up interest in portable. Thanks to Head-Fi!! (Sorry for MY wallet)

PS: Home stereo in great shape and for sale in MPLS/ST Paul area only--don't want to ship with the price of tubes these days . . .
