I would like to make a list of headphones according to their impedance.
For simplicity I will include two sections, one for Low and one for High Impedance. Some headphone models may belong to both groups as some makers may offer high and low impedance versions.
IEMs are excluded

Low impedance is up to 60 Ohm
High impedance from 61 Ohm and above

LOW IMPEDANCE

32 Ohm
Beyerdynamic DT880 (Manufactur)
Grado:GS1000, GS1000i,RS1, RSi,RS1is

HIGH IMPEDANCE

250 Ohm
Beyerdynamic DT880 (Standard)

600 Ohm
Beyerdynamic DT880 (Manufactur)

I have a suggestion for this list, but the headphone is 60.5 Ohms. If I tried to consider whether it was a low or high impedance headphone, I would divide by zero and my mind would be destr

Any suggestions and additions are welcome.
It's a list to help potential HP buyers/users.

Just a suggestion before the list gets too big, I think I'd add sensitivity too, as I assume you're using it as a guide for how much power/V/I is needed to drive them properly.

Yeah, impedence alone will not mean overly much. Going by impedence values alone, newbies to the hobby may even think something like HD25 would be just as hard to drive as K701, for example... when that would be further from the truth in reality. If we are going to do this, we'll need sensitivity values for sure.

Fine, in that case sensitivity will be added to the list so people can use the data to help them choose a suitable amp say.
So maybe the title efficiency might be more appropriate.
Any suggestions on the data format?

That's really great, thanks.

However I can't find the database or files could you point the link please?

EDIT I couldn't open the sensitivity.ods file, the sensitivity.sxc is fine!
Great Work Indeed!

For what it's worth we have started an impedance list on the Bottlehead Forum. As of this posting it's not too huge, but we hope the community will make contributions by posting info to the list and I will merge it into the list. Note that my criterion for high impedance is a bit higher than proposed here - 120 ohms.
