Hi, I'm looking to buy some new headphones, right now I have some really old Aiwa HP-X222's that my brother bought me years ago. I am looking to buy some nice headphones for under $100, I want some with alot of bass, but have some decent treble too. I researched it some and figured the AKG K81DJ or the Denon AHD-1001k would suite my needs. Which one should I get, or is there something better I could get?

Beyer DT770 are bass monsters but not available in the under $100 market. Best bet would most likely be Denon 1000/1001 from what people say around here.

I might be able to squeeze another $50 out but it'd have to be worth it though. Is there that much difference between the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO and the others I mentioned to be worth the extra money?

Equation RP-21 are right in that neighborhood. If a bit orange.

Sorry, but the Q-40s are better than both K81DJs and RP-21s by far.

if you can come up with $150 and you're in the U.S you can snag a pair of Dt770s off ebay. If you want bass, You got it!!

This is exactly what I did earlier today. I appreciate everyone's help here, and will definately be posting about how I like(or don't like) my new first set of "real" phones.
