I am looking to upgrade my movies headphone, I will use it with the Sennheiser GSX 1000, or if you have suggestions for another surround amp that would be helpful.
Currently I am using Philips X2 with the GSX 1000, it's nice but I am looking for a more high end headphones.
Maybe I will use it for some music, but for now my main music listing setup: Legend X + Mojo.

Headphones to consider: LCD-2, HiFiMAN HE400i/560.
Note: I never used planar headphones so I don't know what to expect from them.

If you want to use primarily for movies you need a good soundstage, which is found on open back, and you need earth shattering bass, which can only really be found in planar magnetics, so the choice you have listed are all good, but i'd go with an audeze lcd 2f or 3 or if money isn't an issue the 4z
