Dear members this is my first post.
I recently bought a Kann. I have Shure 846 headphones.

I have three questions

1. Do I need special headphones cables for my Shure or I can plug directly into headphone jack

2 if I want to buy over ear headphones like Audeze LCD-XC , will I need headphone amplifier and cables or again I can play directly. If so what cables and amplifier

3 Other than Audeze what can you suggest

I listen to mostly classic rock like Floyd , Clapton and Jazz

Thanks

* you can plug directly into the headphone jack

* nope, you won't need a headphone amp and you can use the stock cables. From experience, some good aftermarket cables to improve the sound. So that is something you can go for. I use the Audeze LCD-X with Stefan AudioArt cables direct to the Kann. I haven't looked back nor felt the need for external DACs or AMPs.

Happy hunting and good luck.

For the cable part, if you want to use the balanced out, you'll need another cable. Otherwise, you can use your own
But in my opinion, when you use an ak product, you will want to use the balanced out. I don't have the kann, but i am using the ak70mkii, and the balanced out is noticeably better.

From my experience to use kann with ah-d7200,kann should be work well with LCD-X . At least not too bad
But of course with good amp more good sound.

Kann with rnhp easily beats kann's headphone jack in every aspect
