So i recently got some grado sr80i's and i love them. however, i feel myself wanting something more for my hip hop/r&n/rap songs. What headphones would you guys recommend? im willing to pay pretty high. I've always had my eye on the grado rs1. would that satisfy my hip hop needs or should i be looking at other brands? also, would the rs1 have enough bass? if it makes a difference, i'll be listening to CDs or FLAC files mostly. i guess my bottom line question would be, if someone asked you for some good headphones for hip hop, which comes to mind first as a "holy grail"?

The ATH-M50's sound great with old school hip-hop. I'd recommend those.

try putting some flats on your grados, i like my grados very much for rap and hip hop with a pair of ttvj flats

dt990, denon 5000, ultrasone 750 or 900

all these are amazing for hip hop.

I definately think my Denon D5000s (Markl semi-mod, and J$ pads) are fantastic for hip-hop.

What's your budget? For trance and bass heavy music I'd go with Ultrasones or Denons. I think it's hard to beat their sound for the music you listen to.
