Our senior class is creating a video to show at graduation this year and editing for the movie begins soon. Especially important is the audio and the people editing them don't have access to very good headphones for in class editing and I was wondering if you guys could help me find a good pair available in stores.

Price: Around 50
Source: Mac Pro using final cut

Any suggestions woud be greatly appreciated

I don't think you'll find many answers, for a couple of reasons:

1. It is very difficult (read: next to impossible) to edit or mix audio on headphones which is destined to be played out of a TV or speaker system. The frequency response is going to be very different as is the positioning, ambience and depth perception.

2. For $50, you can't expect to find headphones which are going to be in anyway flat (uncoloured).

3. Audio for TV/Film is a highly specialised set of diciplines; Dialogue, Sound FX, Foley and Music. None of these audio areas would ever be mixed in headphones.

Sorry, I know this isn't the answer you wanted but unfortunately it is the correct answer.
