Headphones for a Programmer

I hope he'll like them, and I hope you'll post your findings here. I'm genuinely curious. I think we have collectively given you good advice, but the proof is in the listening.

I'm a software engineer with basically the same musical taste. I use open phones (Grado's) at work because they let outside noise in. It makes it easier for me to hear when someone has a question from behind me.

If he listens to music loudly, he might get into trouble with open phones leaking. Everybody around me has headphones on, and I listen fairly quietly so it's never a problem.

Just a thought...
