Hi there, I have Audio Technica A900 with E-MU 0404 USB, and I often receive electrostatic discharges from the headphones while listening to music (like once or twice a day), they aren't strong, I'm only concerned about the wellbeing of the headphones and DAC.
Is this normal?
Is it MY electrostatic charge the cause? (I have carpet floor)

This is definitely not a new story with AT's, search around for it.

I had not experienced this issue ever singe I got a power conditioner - dunno about others.

I have a No-Break with built-in Regulator for my computer stuff
:S
Maybe it's not enough.
What power conditioner do you have?

You would most likely be causing a static shock to the headphones, not receiving one from them, thanks to your carpet floor. Wear an anti-static strap for a couple of days and see if that stops the shocks. If so, your carpet is the problem.

I work in a carpeted, air-conditioned environment and sometimes it gets really bad. I seem to be a natural grounding rod anyway (woolly jumpers!) and I've gotten some pretty nasty zaps from my L3000 :frowning2:
