I would like to know what options I have to hook up a pair of headphones and a clip-on mic to the xbox one controller. I saw somewhere that I can plug the headphones into the tv and mic into the controller which is fine but prefer to run this setup through the controller's port instead.

Actually the Munitio NINES with the single button universal mic works and sounds great with the headphone adapter. But they are $150. Do NOT get the ones with the iphone, ipod and Ipad support. Those won't work. Now these iems might be worth it if you plan to use them with your phone and or dap. But for gaming only, the are other gaming headphones that sounds better.
