Hello I was trying to find out who were the designers of AKG 812, and then realized there is probably no database about headphone development history (correct me if I am wrong). It would be nice to have a database containing some technical information and the list of people who worked on them and some details about the development process.
There are wikis for anime shows and such, one for headphone would be nice. And if there is already an existing one, then would be thankful for the link.

I like the idea. Now, the knowledge is spred out on different forums and groups. But the amount of work to create a database like this is insane. Hard to expect anybody to do it...

Actually it is not too hard if we agree on using the commonly available platforms like fandom.

We can just input the materials, its just that people who are knowledgeable (unlike me) needs to monitor that wrong information is not inserted. I am pretty sure people will be happy to contribute to the database once it is set up and monitored.

The biggest issue I can forsee is knowledgeable people disagreeing with each other. Since audio is highly subjective topic...

Well what I had in mind was some facts not subjective reviews. Like who was the designer of HD800S , what were the technologies behind it. For subjective reviews and such, we have forums here

Good point. That would be a nice addition to the community. Especially the pioneers of audio are getting older with each day. Would be a shame to lose their knowledge.
On the other hand, I can see big corporations refusing to say who the designers are.
