Ahh :rip:. I didn't realize tubes also get posted in that classified section lol. I've been keeping an eye on the Desktop Amp and "Cables, Speakers, Accessories" classified sections
I found WE and Elrogs by doing manual searches for the terms. Be careful with WE. I had been searching for 'WE 300b' and couldn't find any available. Then I tried 'WE300b' and found a pair. Search function is very finicky.
I very much like the WE300b...they do not smoke the ER300 but they are a completely different listen and I can easily understand somebody preferring them...I have both and currently am using the ER300..

actually I have been spoken of here as one who would like the WE more so I am not sure about my signature speaking to the discussion.I find the WE to sound more "tubelike" with many strengths ...the Elrog is outstanding as well but a very different experience and I perfectly respect one preferring one over the other...
All these comparisons between WEs and Elrogs made me want to listen to WEs again. They’ve been gathering dust (at least the wooden box has) for a couple of years now. So when I listen to it for the first time again, and the difference is fairly obvious. More bloated bass, less definition than Elrogs, with more closed-in soundstage. I didn’t bother to change my rectifier or driver tubes to fine tune the sound as I just want to have a simple comparison. After a good 30 minutes, I switched back to Elrogs and now I’m back in audio nirvana
This doesn’t mean that the WEs don’t sound good, but I guess I’m just so used to the sound of Elrogs these past couple of years, it’s hard for me to go back to WEs. I certainly can mix and match the WEs with different rectifier and driver tubes (I have plenty of both) to get a sound that’s close to or similar to Elrogs, but I’m just too lazy to do it. I have no intention to sell the WEs though, as I treat them as spare tubes for my Elrogs.
I am the proud owner of the ER300 and WE300B and think both are great with my envy but I am curious about the Tak's which I have read and heard a fair bit about..curious as to what peopel think of them relative to the other 2 I mention

IMO, the Tak 300B are lightweight and thin. Very airy, and a bit anemic compared to either the WE or the Elrog (I have the Mo's, I imagine the same holds true with the ER's). They are detailed though, so if classical, vocals, or maybe airy jazz is your thing, they're nice. But if you want anything with presence, pass. Of course, YMMV, etc.
