Yeah, Like you never saw this question before.

I am looking to purchase some headphones with the intent that i will get a headphone amp also.
I would idealy like to get some local so i can just get them now but mail order is ok.
Most all my music is MP3 at 320.

My music taste is varied but mostly rock, indie, top40.
Generally i like a more neutral sound and when wanted will eq for a higher or lower end.In other words too bright or too boomy equals headache for me.

Have been using a creative Zen Xtra 40g forever in my car and out on foot.
I will be getting an Archos 604 tomorow.My AV reciever is a Yamaha RX-V2095. I do listen mostly from the Zen but with some new phones most likely will listen to MP3 and satelite radio through the AV reciever.
My current phones for outdoors walking or in bed are Etymotic ER6

Open or closed is not an issue so whatever gives the best all round sound and comfort is cool.
Cost should be under 400 dollars. Not to say i want to spend that but can go that high.

just as an example, One of my most favorite music to crank up is rush
moving pictures. Seems this has the perfect sound that i can feel the punch and highs are awesome but don't hurt or give me a headache.Thats through speakers though.

Did i cover enough info?
Since there seems to no longer be audio places to go audition phones i figured i would take advice from here.
