Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and I am planning to get a pair of around ear headphones.

I am thinking of Bose Triport Around Ear (1st generation). But after reading some review, it looks like it is not the best.

My main purpose is to watch Blu-ray movie on my computer.

And price ranges $100-150.

Do you guys have any suggestion? And is the Bose Triport good enough?

Thanks!! =]

Thanks! And how about the sennheiser HD 448? How does it compare to Bose Triport around ear first gen?

Also, how about Sennheiser HD 280 PRO and HD 428?

Thanks so much!

I'm assuming you have a Blu-ray player in your computer.
Are you using the built in sound on the computer (make and model of motherboard?) or have you installed a separate sound card?
Does it matter if the headphones are open or closed style?

Yes I do have a blu ray player in my computer. On board sound card of HP Pavilion dv3t-2000 laptop. I would like something similar to the bose around ear headphones.

Out of the Sennheisers you mentioned I would bet that the 428 would best match the Triport sound signature, although I haven't heard them personally. I feel that headphones most similar to the Triports would be warm sounding closed headphones with a slightly emphasized bass.

On board sound card on a laptop is not the greatest thing for powering headphones.

Bose headphones are usually overpriced for their sound quality.
I have not used most of the headphones on the list.
I believe the Audio Technica ATH-M50s are great for Stereo 2.0 music

Panasonic RT-HTF600-S, with the Beyerdynamic EDT 200 Velour ear pads.
Are really the best bang for the buck headphones.

i’ve had 2 earbuds go bad on me in few months (stepped on one of’em n another just went dead).

could any of u recommend a reliable earbuds somewhere??

it doesn’t have to be an audiophile quality yet some decent sound would be nice.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
